What is Climacure Attic?

The patent pendig Climacure Attic is a system designed to keep attic spaces dry and to prevent damp related damages. It is made up of a computer that controls a fan and a heating cable. Climacure Attic compares the outdoor climate with the climate in the attic space and if it is favourable the attic is ventilated with the fan, which makes the attic dry.
Normally, the humidity of the surroundings varies a lot during the periods when attic spaces have (the) most problems, and therefore it is often sufficient enough to simply control the ventilation. Should it be damp outside long enough to allow harmful quantities of moisture to accumulate in the attic, Climacure Attic heats the space with the heating cable until the relative humidity has decreased. By comparing the climate with the growth conditions of the prevalent mould and rot fungus spores, Climacure Attic can determine whether there is a risk of them starting to grow. Only if that is the case, Climacure Attic uses the heating cable to heat the attic, which minimizes the energy consumption.
In other words, Climacure Attics function is to dry the attic as much as possible when the outdoor air is drier. During periods of time when the outdoor climate is unfavourable, Climacure Attic does not ventilate but supervises the climate in the attic instead. If it is necessary in order to prevent damp related damages, Climacure Attic will heat the attic. When temperature rises the relative humidity decreases since it is directly dependent on temperature. In that way mould and rot fungus are kept from establishing themselves.
Climacure Attic comes in two different models.
Climacure Attic
For one-storeyed houses, or houses where the top floor is full size, and where the attic is one continous space. The maximum building area is approximately 120 square metres.
Climacure Attic Double
Climacure Attic Double equals Climacure Attic but is supplemented with an extra ventilation part. It is suited for one-and-a-half storeyed houses, houses with attics with separate spaces or larger houses
